BUNGALOW COLORS ~ SOME BEAUTIFUL COMBINATIONS

I get real excited about paint colors and the wonderful combinations I see around town. Here are a few of my favorites. These bungalows are all in the Houston Heights Historical District. American Bungalow Magazine also has posted a historic color chart for bungalow exteriors at http://www.americanbungalow.com/2010/06/exterior-paint-colors
Subdued earthtones with white trim works well on this bungalow. Notice the meticulous landscaping and inviting front porch.

Another subdued tone but with a burgandy secondary color and perfectly crisp, white trimming. Isn't this nice? Wow!

Another subdued primary tone with matching yellowish cream trim. This bungalow is picture perfect and the wrap around front porch is complete with that gorgeous porch rail. Notice the carefully crafted details in the gable trimming.

The blue shades with pure white trim work very well together. Notice the matching trellis skirts and classy gable eave supports.
Those azaleas will complement this tone each Spring.

Finally, this is an older style bungalow and someone has taken great care to restore it to its original charm.
Notice the decorative porch rail, the stylish door and the outstanding windows. The top gable window is quite distinct and gives this charming bungalow even more character. And, if you look carefully, you'll notice EACH board on the roof overhang is notched! What care in construction. This is a rare treasure.

Well, that concludes our tour. Thanks for stopping by. To see more, take a bike ride through the wonderful Heights neighborhoods.
Smile and wave and you'll get a wave back from the friendly folks that live there.
